The material, the teaching methods and the curricula have been developed in order
to improve the students’ oral communication skills. Teaching grammar is usage-oriented:
both in the presentation of grammatical items and their practising the focus is
laid on communication. Games and various activities are used to drill in the necessary
patterns. Group and pair work are widely used; so are language games, situation
games, and roleplays. Course-books are complemented with dvd and audio materials.
Phonetics classes have been planned to perfect students’ pronunciation.
On the one hand, students are equipped with adequate language knowledge to attend
another language course during their study period; on the other hand, they will
become emotionally motivated to know Hungary better and take an active part in
university life during their term.
Evaluation in class work, small tests and a written and oral exam at the end of
the course.
A passed exam gives 5 credits to a student.

Union for Belorussian citizens. The applicants can apply for the tuition fees and
a scholarship at the Open Europe Scholarship Scheme.
