Student Reviews: ELTE Among Europe’s Leading Universities
ELTE placed 10th in the ranking with an overall score of 4.35, alongside internationally renowned institutions such as the University of Liverpool, the University of Warsaw, Durham University, and the University of Leeds. First place was awarded to Anglo-American University (Prague).
According to student reviews, the university’s strengths include the professional expertise of its teaching staff, an international and inclusive environment, and an active student life. “There are always programs, mentoring opportunities, and community activities; the instructors are well prepared, and campus life is vibrant,” the ranking quotes an International Relations BA student. Another international student commented: “ELTE is an outstanding Hungarian university with well-organized programs, supportive instructors, and a diverse, inclusive international community.”
Although the ranking is not based on a representative statistical survey but on voluntary student feedback, the 3,475 reviews published in 2025 provide sufficient insight into the quality of university life in Europe. Only institutions with at least 20 reviews were eligible for inclusion, meaning that ELTE’s result genuinely reflects student experiences and demonstrates that the university is competitive not only academically but also in terms of student experience.
This achievement is particularly valuable for ELTE as it is based directly on feedback from students. The ranking confirms that ELTE offers an attractive, high-quality, and inspiring learning environment to international students.
