ELTE Budapest Summer University

One-week and two-week courses offered to international and Hungarian students, in various study fields, in English.

23rd ELTE Summer University of Hungarian Language and Culture

Four-week program offering an intensive Hungarian Language Course with many cultural components.

University of Tübingen - Babeș-Bolyai University - ELTE Summer Academy

The one-week Summer Academy examines the history of the Central-European region in 3 different era of the history from the 19th century till nowadays.

ELTE Hungarian Summer University in the Carpathian Basin

One-week program offered to university students of the Hungarian diaspora, in various study fields (humanities, informatics, law, primary and pre-school education, science, social sciences, special education).

During the one-week event, ELTE aims to allow young Hungarian people living in the Carpathian Basin outside Hungary to further educate themselves on a specific area of their subjects. Hungarian students from Transylvania, Upper Hungary, Transcarpatia, and Vojvodina can attend special courses in various disciplines. Besides educational content, there is a large emphasis also on creating an intellectual community of students in the Carpathian Basin by the end of the program. 

A satellite event of the summer university is the Forum for Hungarian Institutions of the Hungarian diaspora in the Carpathian Basin, which is an executive meeting of the leaders of ELTE and partner institutions in the Carpathian Basin. The forum facilitates the development of bilateral research and educational relations in higher education and the increase of the number of double degrees in the Higher Education Region in the Carpathian Basin.

ELTE Summer School in Mathematics – Higher mathematics through problem solving

One-week program organized by the Institute of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, ELTE, Budapest.

The summer school is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students in Mathematics, Computer Science, Sciences, or in any related program. The mini courses we offer highlight areas of discrete mathematics in which the Institute of Mathematics has a traditionally strong record. The goal of the courses is to introduce students to current directions in research that are accessible at undergraduate and graduate level. 

Psychoanalysis on Trauma and Beyond - Recent Developments in Clinical Psychology - International Summer School

One-week program organized by the Faculty of Education and Psychology, ELTE and by the Hungarian Psychoanalytical Society.

The summer school creates a forum to discuss recent developments, theoretical and practical problems of the profession. The focus of this year’s discussion will be crucial aspects of psychoanalytic clinical insight especially those referring to trauma.

Narratives of Memory, Migration and Xenophobia - International Graduate Summer School

The four-week summer school brings students into itercultural discussions and musical performances at sites of traumatic historical memory. Students will reflect on how narratives of the past inform the present context of migration and xenophobia.

The summer course is organized for students studying at one of the following universities: University of Victoria (Canada), Aix-Marseille Université (France), University of Osnabrück (Germany), and Faculty of Social Sciences, Eötvös Loránd University. The students will study and travel for three weeks in Hungary, Germany, France, and Canada, engaging in intercultural discussions and musical performances at sites of traumatic historical memory. At each location, students will reflect on how narratives of the past inform the present context of migration and xenophobia.
