Development of Measurement Tools and Practices for Assessing the Acceptance of Smart Innovations
The research project "Development of Measurement Tools and Practices for Assessing the Acceptance of Smart Innovations" was implemented at Eötvös Loránd University.

Identification of a Social Problem

Recognizing the societal benefits of health promotion has become vital for aging societies, making research and development in this area crucial. The use of smart devices requires knowledge acquisition that younger generations effortlessly acquire as a natural learning process. However, for older individuals, depending on their individual characteristics, learning to handle and utilize new devices can be challenging, requiring additional time and a shift in mentality. One important area where life can be made easier is elderly care, which allows for improved living conditions and safer, higher-quality care through well-developed tools. However, from the perspective of users and consumers, the situation is more nuanced.

Introduction of the Developed Method

The essence of the developed measurement tool is to assess the acceptance of technical innovations labeled as "smart" through a rating system. This primarily measures consumer attitudes but aims to provide a broader context for mapping the market situation. Therefore, the measurement intends not only to target potential consumers but also to extend towards professionals who can influence consumption decisions and potentially attract new manufacturers entering the market. By utilizing the designed questionnaires, a more comprehensive understanding of the acceptance of a particular product can be formed, whether from a geographical or social group perspective.
