Call for Applications – Exchange Student Scholarship at Heidelberg University
The International Strategy Office, Rector’s Cabinet ELTE, is now calling for applications within the framework of the institutional bilateral agreement between Eötvös Loránd University and Heidelberg University. Students can apply to study for one semester at Heidelberg University as tuition fee waiver exchange students.
General Information
Heidelberg University offers two scholarships for either the first or the second semester of the academic year 2021/2022. The duration of the funding is 5 months. The expected amount of the grant is € 700.- per month and person. The students will receive a room in one of the dormitories, to be paid from the scholarship (between 250 and 400 EUR/month).
Students can apply for the first or the second semester of the academic year 2021/2022.
Who Is Eligible to Apply?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s students enrolled in a full-degree programme of Eötvös Loránd University
- Students with preferably high level of German language knowledge
- We are inviting applicants whose specific fields can be found at the University of Heidelberg: https://www.uni-heidelberg.de/en
- Students with preferably high level of German language knowledge
- Important: Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship holders can’t apply to this type of Scholarship
How to Apply
The application should include:
- Curriculum vitae (in Hungarian or English)
- Transcript of Records - based on the current pandemic situation transcripts exported from the Neptun system are accepted. (in English)
- An essay written in Hungarian or English in which the applicant describes why he or she would like to study at Heidelberg University and how the semester there would affect his or her learning and academic development. The essay should not exceed one A4 page
The applicants can also attach certificates, publications, etc. These are considered as a plus at the application procedure.
Please send all applications as a package, preferably in one .rar or .zip file. The attached documents are preferred in .pdf form.
Please, be aware that incomplete or otherwise faulty applications can be excluded from the selection process without prior notice.

After applying, the University of Heidelberg’s committee will provide an online link which leads to a separate application to finalize the procedure. The winners of the scholarship must fill this form in order to gain the scholarship.
Application Deadline
Receipt of the applications until 06 June 2021.
