Celebrating Journeys and New Beginnings: Farewell Event & ELTE International Alumni Get-Together Budapest
Held with the support of ELTE Alumni Center, the event brought together recent graduates, longtime alumni living in Hungary, and even the families of students whose graduation ceremonies were held around this time.
The evening began with a heartfelt series of ceremonial speeches. The opening remarks came from the Vice -Rector for Education, Prof. Dr. László Zentai, and Judit Balogh-Kátai representing the ELTE Alumni Center. Graduates and alumni shared inspiring reflections on their journeys at ELTE, the challenges they overcame, and the friendships that shaped their experiences. As the leader of the ELTE Budapest Alumni Community, Hoang Nguyen Khanh An hared her experience, and representing the freshly graduated students Ganzin Danil inspired the listeners. The audience was also introduced to an exciting new initiative: the ELTE Alumni Ambassador Program — designed to keep the global ELTE community connected and thriving.
After the formal program, guests raised their glasses during a celebratory toast and mingled through a relaxed networking session. Social games added a lighthearted energy, helping new connections blossom among peers from around the world.
One of the evening’s highlights came later when a vibrant Hungarian Folk Dance Show filled the venue with music and movement. The audience was not just a passive one — many eagerly joined in, sharing laughs and learning the steps of traditional dances together.
By the time the event closedthe atmosphere was one of warmth, pride, and unity — a fitting farewell for some, and an enthusiastic “welcome back” for others.
This event wasn't just a goodbye — it was a celebration of achievements, a bridge between past and future, and a reminder that wherever life may lead, the ELTE community is always a place to call home.
