CENTRAL Workshops 2020
Members of
- Charles University,
- Eötvös Loránd University,
- Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin,
- the University of Vienna
- the University of Warsaw,
may submit a joint application in teams spanning at least three institutions to cover the costs of up to two workshops (duration: up to three days). The teams should clearly integrate junior researchers. The budget available will allow funding for 10 to 13 workshops. The workshops may take place at any of the CENTRAL universities. Each of the CENTRAL partner universities will host one workshop. The other workshops will be hosted by the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Workshops must take place in 2020.
Aims of the workshops
The aim of the CENTRAL workshop-funding is either to consolidate existing projects or to initiate new joint research projects. The potential for continuing the collaboration after the workshop, including a prospect of obtaining third-party funds, should be clearly identifiable. The sustainability of
the project is a relevant selection criterion.
Who can apply?
The call is aimed at established researchers (at least post-docs) of all disciplines who wish to organise one or two three-day workshops together with at least two CENTRAL partners. Humboldt Universität zu Berlin must be involved in each workshop proposal due to DAAD (main sponsor) funding rules. Additional partners can be invited to the workshop. However, only members of the CENTRAL universities are eligible for funding. A project/workshop leader must be named for each partner university. Alongside the project/workshop leaders, up to four junior researchers per partner (post-docs, pre-docs and/or students) may participate in the workshops.
Possible structure: min. 3 to max. 5 CENTRAL partners.
What can be funded?
- Travel and accommodation costs for individuals participating in the workshop who are members of the participating CENTRAL universities
- Material resources up to a maximum of €1,000 per workshop (e.g. for promotional materials, room hire, fees for external visitors)
