Commemoration of Loránd Eötvös at Heidelberg University
On the occasion of the centennial of the death of Loránd Eötvös, László Borhy, the Rector of ELTE and Imre Hamar, Vide-rector for International Affairs travelled to Heidelberg on the 19th of September, where they have put a wreath to the plaque of Loránd Eötvös, together with the leaders of Heidelberg University.
Heidelberg University installed the plaque to the honor of Loránd Eötvös in 1993 in the building of today’s Psychologisches Institut commemorating the young Eötvös’s studies at the university.
The relation between ELTE and Heidelberg University is fruitful and exceptionally close for a long time, which resulted in the organization of ELTE-Heidelberg Summer University on several occasions and the scholarships provided to ELTE students by Heidelberg University.
The leaders from ELTE were welcomed by Bernhard Eitel, Rector, Dieter W. Heermann, Vice-Rector International Affairs, Ute Mager, member of the Senate and Marietta Fuhrmann-Koch, Director of Communication and Marketing.
