We are inviting you to a lecture with the ELTE Alumni Academy. Sign up for an interactive online workshop about presentation skills and how to become more effective.

Date and time: 23 May, 2024. 14:00 CET

Location: The event will be online, the attendees will receive the access links.

Please note, since the high interactivity of the lecture, the maximum number of attendees are limited in 25 participants.

Summary:  In today's job market, the need to present is a skill that everyone  should and can develop regardless of the field that they work in. The aim of the interactive workshop is for the participants to master and practice the basics of creating a presentation in English. First, the basics of creating effective presentations are presented and discussed:, such as material selection, slideshow structure and layout, inserting references, displaying individual slides, data visualization, as well as the use of various slide creator software and templates. In the second part, the focus is on the presentation itself, during which we will talk about preparation, body language, and the importance of scheduling our time.

About the lecturer: Brigitta Dóczi has been teaching various courses at the Department of English Applied Linguistics since 1999. She obtained her PhD degree in 2012. Her main fields of interest are second language vocabulary development as well as task-based teaching and materials design. She has been the head of the ’English in business’ BA specialization  since 2017, offering business-related courses. She also has extensive experience in teacher training, while still actively teaching English as a foreign language. Apart from teaching vocabulary research, she also offers courses and workshops related to research methodology and presentation skills to graduates and PhD students. She has recently published her monograph about research in vocabulary learning and development in the 21st century.
