EUF Coordinators Meeting in Budapest
Following the 12th Annual Assembly of the European University Foundation (EUF) Council of Rectors held at Ghent University in March, the delegated coordinators of the EUF member universities gathered together at Eötvös Loránd University on 14th and 15h May, 2019.  

The aim of the coordinators meeting held each 6 months is to ensure the efficient coordination of the EUF network activities by discussing the network updates with the special focus on the proposals addressed by the Council. The main topics were the organisation of a stakeholders meeting and new European Universities Initiative-related activities, as well as possible solutions to improve the recognition process of the credit mobility.

During the meeting updates on EUF related projects have also been presented with the special attention to synergies between the activities.

On the second day, the coordinators elected the Chair of Coordinators with a one-year mandate: Ms Anikó Szontágh, Head of Erasmus+ and International Programmes Department at Eötvös Loránd University and Dr Aurèlia Mañé Estrada Delegate of the rector for international mobility and programmes from the University of Barcelona.

The next meeting of the coordinators is scheduled for November in Brussels.

The main focus of the European University Foundation is accelerating the modernization of the European Higher Education Area keeping in mind five pillars, which are quality mobility, employability, policy innovation, digital higher education and active citizenship. As a network of 20 European universities – since February 2019 also including ELTE -, the foundation aims to modernize European Higher Education in order to make it more competitive in the area.
