Identity, Nation, City

Identity, Nation, City

A volume entitled ‘Identity, Nation, City: Perspectives from the TEMA network’, comprising studies by past and current students of the TEMA Erasmus Mundus Master Programme, coordinated by the Eötvös Loránd University, was published recently by the Atelier Department of European Social Science and Historiography.

As reflected in the title, the content of the book concentrates on the problematic of the notions of nation, identity and city, which also form the focus point of the TEMA Master. The book was edited by Jaroslav Ira, assistant professor of the Charles University, and Jan de Jong and Imre Tarafás, both PhD candidates at the Atelier department.

The book, which came into being for the occasion of the 50th and 65th birthday of Gábor Czoch and Lud’a Klusáková respectively, is a collection of works by young researchers who all have taken part in the TEMA Master Programme. The studies reflect the main spirit and methodology of the Atelier Department perfectly through their focus on question-based empirical research which is well-based in the existing theory.
