Eötvös Loránd Law School cordially invites you for the public lecture of prof. Shruti Rana from Indiana University. The lecture’s title is „Refugee Women at Risk: Current Challenges and Potential Legal Pathways”.

Women refugees often face specific risks and challenges because of their gender and family status as well as the failure of legal systems to recognize or account for these risks. This session will explore some of the most pressing risks and challenges facing women refugees, and discuss how legal systems can better address these challenges. The session will focus on U.S. refugee law from a comparative perspective and discuss recent developments on refugee issues in the U.S.

The lecture will be followed by a short Q@A session.

Prof. Rana is a senior assistant dean at Indiana University and director of the International Law and Institutions Program.

Recently she taught in the Women's Rights and the Equality Principle seminar in cooperation with Dr. Sára Hungler at our Faculty as a guest teacher.
