The conference focuses on child protection in the digital world, with the aim of facilitating international knowledge exchange on online child safety, as well as the prevention and policing of online child sexual abuse.

The backbone of the conference programme consists of presentations by researchers from the London-based Centre for Abuse and Trauma Studies at Middlesex University, the Budapest-based Eötvös Loránd University, and the Hungarian National Institute of Criminology. Among others, internationally renowned experts such as Prof Elena Martellozzo, Dr István Ambrus, and Dr Jeffrey DeMarco will share insights from current research. The academics will present on topics such as the impact of online pornography on young people, discuss new, emerging types of sexual offences in the online world and associated regulations, the behaviour of perpetrators engaging in online child sexual exploitation and other abuses, and the secondary traumatization of frontline workers exposed to online child sexual abuse material.
