The Department of Applied Linguistics and Phonetics, the Doctoral School of Intercultural Linguistics of the Faculty of Humanities of ELTE, and the Society of Hungarian Linguistics are launching an international conference series on topics of applied linguistics with sessions in English and Hungarian.

For the purpose of the conference, the organizers would like to take the meaning of applied linguistics in its broadest sense and aim to present research analyzing potential linguistic/communication/social problems and offer real solutions via linguistic means from an interdisciplinary perspective.

The organizers are inviting scientific papers to be presented at the conference on the theme of socially responsible linguistics. The conference primarily explores and prioritizes less widely known topics of applied linguistics and the research of still unknown (or not widely known) linguistic dilemmas; moreover, it calls for new, innovative analyses of known problems and the elaboration of solutions. Besides teacher-researcher colleagues, the organizers also welcome applications from students.

The deadline for submitting an abstract is 31 May 2021.
