Students from the ELTE Institute of Germanic Studies helped at the IDT international conference
The IDV (Internationaler Deutschlehrerinnen- und Deutschlehrerverband) is a professional association for German as a foreign language, whose objective is to promote the professional work of educators teaching German through further training and discussions of theoretical and practical issues around the world. The conference, held every four years, is implemented in close cooperation with the local associations of the member countries. This year, the Hungarian Association of German Language Teachers (UDV) could also present their professional activities at the symposium.
Supported by the Austria-Hungary Action Foundation, ten students of the ELTE Institute of Germanic Studies and two teachers accompanying them attended the event, where they took part in the organisation of the conference as scholarship-holding volunteers. They also had the opportunity to have an insight in the work of the various sessions of the conference, participate in plenary lectures, and get to know the city of Vienna better. During the event, the ELTE students could meet and build relationships with students coming from other universities, which may form the basis of further important collaborations in the future. The participation for the Hungarian students was prepared by the Department of Language Teaching and Foreign Language Pedagogy at the ELTE Institute of Germanic Studies.
