University Networks: Student Mobility

ELTE actively participates in the work of several prestigious university networks. Some of these networks offer mobility programs to the students of their members.

If your university is a member of Coimbra Group, MAUI or AEN, or Utrecht Network, you are eligible to study at ELTE as an exchange student. Students moving within university network student mobility programs will not be charged tuition fees. The students will receive recognition for course work successfully completed during their stay at the host university. In addition, all students will have access to support services at the host university.

Coimbra GroupStudent Exchange Network (SEN)

coimbra_photoA large number of the member universities participate in the Coimbra Group SEN, which aims to promote and enhance an inner network exchange at all levels and academic disciplines. 

Who are eligible to apply?

Students enrolled at the Coimbra Group Universities (participating in SEN) at all levels and academic disciplines who meet the general academic criteria and language requirements specified by the Coimbra Group SEN member universities.

How to apply?

  • Check here if your university is a member of the Coimbra Group Student Exchange Network.
  • Contact the international office of your university and ask about the selection procedure at your university.
  • If you are selected, your international coordinator sends a nomination to the international office of ELTE (András Pétsch, University Networks Coordinator at ELTE)
  • Your nomination is forwarded to the relevant faculty for final decision.
  • The relevant faculty decides about your acceptance. The acceptance is mostly based on whether there are matching courses in English with your study field.
  • The international office at ELTE contacts your international coordinator.
  • After accepting you as a fee-waiver exchange student, you will be informed about the registration process, deadlines and required documents.

For ELTE students

If you are an ELTE student, you should apply for the program in January/February for either semester of the next academic year. Calls are published on the university website  every January/February.

Utrecht Network – MAUI, Utrecht Network – AEN 

maui_photoaen_photoThe Utrecht Network runs a Student Exchange Programme with universities in the USA and Australia.

USA

In the context of cooperation with the USA, the Utrecht Network functions as a consortium, while planning and carrying out activities in the field of exchange. Together with the MAUI-consortium in the Mid-West USA, the Utrecht Network developed a system which makes student mobility possible within a wide variety of disciplines and between all participating universities. Approximately 100 students are exchanged each year. 
 

Australia

The Utrecht Network exchanges students with Australian-European Network (AEN), a consortium of seven universities in Australia. Approximately 50 students are exchanged each year. 
 

How to apply?

  • Check if your university is a member of the Utrecht NetworkMAUI or AEN.
  • Contact the international office of your university and ask about the selection procedure at your university.

Utrecht Network Young Researchers Grant

utrechtnetwork_photoIt is designed to promote and further enhance the Network’s support to students and staff as well as broaden mobility between the Network institutions.

Within the framework of the Young Researchers Grant up to 10 scholarships of €1,000 each will be offered to masters’ and PhD students who might not be eligible for other scholarship programs like ERASMUS+ (e.g. length of stay under 3 months).

How to apply?

You should apply for the program in September for either semester of the next academic year. For the deadline of application, always check your university’s website (it is usually around October 15).

For ELTE students
