Attitude-Shaping Program on Disability in a Market Environment
The research project "Application of a Scientifically Grounded Attitude-Shaping Program on Disability in a Market Environment" was implemented at Eötvös Loránd University.

Identification of Social Problem

Despite the progress made in recent decades, individuals with disabilities still face significant barriers, and their group continues to be at a higher risk of poverty and social exclusion. Equality of opportunity and accessibility play a prominent role in the European Union Strategy on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2021-2030). The goal of this strategy is to ensure that every person with a disability in Europe can enjoy their human rights, participate in social processes and economic life with equal opportunities and equal access, regardless of gender, race or ethnic origin, religion or belief, age, or sexual orientation.

Result of the Research

The basis of the quantitative research is a participatory attitude-shaping program specifically targeting the corporate sector and promoting diversity.

Presentation of the Research

The research was conducted in two multinational companies, where a 20-person experimental group and a control group were formed. The Solomon four-group experimental design was used, and the Multidimensional Attitude Scale (MAS) served as the main research tool. The MAS is a situational attitude scale designed for assessing attitudes towards individuals with hearing and mobility impairments, and for investigating interaction and relationships, using the Attitudes Towards Disabled People (ATDP-O) scale. The implementation plan included the use of a self-reflection tool for inclusive school leadership developed by the European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education, along with the provision of leadership support.
