Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPCU) opens its pastoral services to ELTE students HU
Eötvös Loránd University and Pázmány Péter Catholic University have announced that in the future, besides Hungarians, foreign students at Eötvös Loránd University will also have access to the pastoral services of Pázmány Péter Catholic University. The agreement was signed by Rectors László Borhy and Géza Kuminetz.

It is particularly important for students studying in Hungary, living far from their families and their familiar cultural environment, to be able to participate in the pastoral services provided by the Church in order to exercise their faith. Therefore, Pázmány Péter Catholic University opens its pastoral services to foreign students studying at ELTE, in particular to foreign students of the Scholarship Programme for Christian Young People (ÖKF), the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme, the Scholarship Programme for the Hungarian Diaspora and the Erasmus+ Programme. ELTE currently has around 3,000 foreign students, but of course the opportunity is open to Hungarian students at the university as well.

The available programmes, some of which are in English, include individual and small group spiritual exercises, holy masses, lectures and round-table discussions, spiritual days and weekend programmes during major Catholic holidays, online teaching of faith groups, and preparation for sacraments (baptism, confirmation).

Additionally, the students can participate in recreational and cultural activities (film clubs, excursions); Father Alessandro Caprioli, PPCU university chaplain, is at the students' disposal. The vast majority of services are free of charge for both Hungarian and international students of PPCU and ELTE.
