What stood out to you about ELTE?

ELTE provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a dormitory, library, sports facilities, financial aids and scholarships. It is one of the most prestigious universities in Hungary that provides work-integrated learning opportunities.

What makes studying at ELTE so great?

Since I am a mechanical engineering student, I am studying at ELTE in Szombathely. In Szombathely, I could find a small, calm, and natural environment which is the main motivational factor for studying. Besides, our department has a limited student number per course which makes the communication easy between us and the professors. The teachers are very helpful and reachable, as well. There, you can feel that the university is your second home, and the teachers are just as supportive as your family.

What are / were your challenges in your study program?

The mechanical engineering major is the challenge itself. Having competitive classmates and great professors, you have to put in a lot of effort and hard work to achieve a good grade. The second challenge was the ability to manage money during the 1st semester there.

How did you overcome these challenges?

By helping each other, studying in groups and sharing all our knowledge, we could overcome this challenge and achieve the best grades. Also, this experience helped me make a lot of friends from different backgrounds and get to know more about their lifestyle and traditions. As for the second challenge, it was solved by understanding my financial situation and then I started setting personal priorities and financial goals every week, this way I could manage my money.

How would you describe ELTE in three words?

Challenging, flexible, and fun.

How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career?

Since my plan is having a Master’s Degree, the Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is the way to reach my second goal. In addition, getting the BSc degree is going to help me become a desirable employee in the job field.

Do you have any recommendations for future students at ELTE?

I do recommend them to search for the extracurricular activities that are available and look for the scientific opportunities that they can join. ELTE has a lot of amazing activities which will help them experience new things in their life and build a better career.
