“Being a student at ELTE also means I can always enjoy the beauty of Budapest.”

Why ELTE?

ELTE is simply the best university in Hungary. The Faculty of Humanities has always been a gold medalist regarding the ranking of faculties in the country. Before deciding at which university to get a degree, I checked the university rankings and ELTE is always at the top of every ranking among universities in Hungary. The English Studies MA program is also among one of the world’s best programs despite the fact that Hungary is a non-English speaking country.

What do you like most about being a student at ELTE?

Specifically in my program, the available courses cover a broad and wide variety of areas. It also has more specialization tracks than other universities do in the same program. Having a plethora of selection helps you find the specific study area that you are most interested in and at which you can become professional. Being a student at ELTE also means I can always enjoy the beauty of Budapest. ELTE’s strategic location in Budapest allows its students to have a balanced life between academic and social life. Budapest is just too beautiful not to fall in love with.

What are the challenges in your study program?

I think writing academic papers and doing research are some of the challenges I have in my study program. But, isn’t that actually the reason why I've come to study at ELTE? By studying at ELTE, I hope I can finally write good academic papers and carry out my research. Of course I will encounter some difficulties but the professors at ELTE are always happy to give necessary guidance to their students.

How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career?

Getting a degree at a reputable and prestigious foreign university will undoubtedly help me in my life and future professional career. I want to be a lecturer at a university in my home country after I graduate. With the specialization track of my choice now, I am confident I can reach my future goals and get my dream job. Getting a degree abroad also helps me better inspire and prepare my future students to compete in the era of globalization.

Do you have any recommendations for future students at ELTE?

Before deciding at which university to get a degree, check its ranking, its location and study the courses offered in the study program you are interested in. Living abroad for foreign students can also be very intimidating and difficult. However, as the time goes by, I am sure you will soon feel at home with new friends and become familiar with everything in Budapest. All the struggles and difficulties you may have when you live abroad will become unforgettable memories when you come back to your home country. Meet new people, take on new challenges, enjoy your time and make the most of it. Also try to learn some Hungarian because it helps a lot. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s be part of ELTE and enjoy the beauty of Budapest.
