Network mobility
Call for application - CEEPUS network mobility 2024/25
CEEPUS Member Countries: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Poland, Prishtina/Kosovo, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic.
Submission deadlines for CEEPUS network mobility applications:
- network mobility for the winter/first semester: 15th June
- network mobility for the summer/second semester: 31st October

I. Eligibility
A) General ConditionsStudents of ELTE can apply.
Further conditions:
- To be a citizen of a CEEPUS member state (or of an EU/EWR state respectively). Students who do not have the citizenship of a CEEPUS member state need to upload an „equal status document" that proves their status at the home institution (e.g. Certificate of Enrolment in English).
- For students, to have 2 completed semesters until the mobility period, and active student status at the home university during the mobility period
- It is not allowed to submit an application to the country of citizenship and to the country of residence.
- It is not allowed to receive a second mobility scholarship from other sources, to cover costs for the same mobility activity, destination and time period (avoiding double financing), therefore:
Students studying in Hungary in the framework of Stipendium Hungaricum programme are:
- eligible to apply for
- Short term student mobility (ST) for a maximum of 30 days
- Short term excursion (STE) for a maximum of 30 days
- not eligible to apply for
- Student mobility (S)
- Short term student mobility (ST) longer than 30 days
based on the operational regulations (version 25.07.2023) of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme.
B) Conditions of each mobility types- Student mobility (S):
- Eligible applicants: Bachelor, Master and PhD students
- Length of mobility: 1 semester or trimester, 3-5 months (Minimum duration of mobility period: full months +16 days for the last month)
- Activity during the mobility period: attending lectures and seminars, obtaining credits is obligatory, which can be supplemented with an internship. The proposed activities should be described in the ’Motivation’ part of the application.
- Learning Agreement is highly recommended
- Student mobilities can be submitted in a network or as Freemover applications.
- Short term student mobility (ST):
- Eligible applicants: Bachelor, Master students who are currently working on their thesis and PhD students
- Length of mobility: 1-2 months (min. 21 days)
- Activity during the mobility period: obligatory research activity, consultation, laboratory project relating to the thesis/dissertation. The proposed activities should be described in the „Motivation” part of the application.
- Student mobilities can be submitted in a network or as Freemover applications.
- Short term excursion (STE):
- Eligible applicants: Bachelor, Master and PhD students
- Length of mobility: 3-5 days
- Activity during the mobility period: participating in an excursion organised by the host institutions’ coordinator.
- Short term excursion applications can only be submitted within a CEEPUS network.
II. Scholarship rates
As the CEEPUS scholarship is awarded and paid by the host country, the amount is different in every country. The same scholarship amounts apply to both Network and Freemover mobilities. You can view the current scholarship rates for the CEEPUS countries here, at the National CEEPUS Offices.
If a grant holder does not stay in the host country for the full length of the period specified in his/her award, he/she may be required to pay back the amount of the scholarship. Months cannot be split.

IV. Application process
Submission deadlines for CEEPUS network mobility applications:
- network mobility for the winter/first semester: 15th June
- network mobility for the summer/second semester: 31st October
Applications can be submitted online, on the website of the Central CEEPUS Office (www.ceepus.info). Follow the step-by-step guide for the online application process:
1) Registration: www.ceepus.info / Sign in / Click here to register / fill in the registration form / click on the link received via email
ATTENTION! You have to register only once! In case you submit further applications, please use the same login.
2) Filling in the application form: www.ceepus.info login/ Mobility Desktop / Your mobility application / Academic year (dropdown menu) /Action / choosing option (yes → network mobility; no → Freemover mobility) / filling in the online application form
3) Uploading documents (pdf, jpg):
- being a citizen of a CEEPUS member country: no documents required
- Not being a citizen of a CEEPUS member country: Equal Status document (e.g. Certificate of Enrolment in English/ first page of work contract in English)
4) Finalizing application: click on ’check & submit’
Online support: in case of technical problems, you can contact the www.ceepus.info website’s IT support by clicking on the green support button in the site’s upper right corner. This is an online chat helpdesk service in English and German.
You can follow the stages of your application:
- Status: submitted / waiting for the nomination from the home PPU: the application has been finalized and submitted and it is waiting for the home institution’s coordinator to nominate it towards the home National CEEPUS Office
- Status: waiting for the nomination from the home NCO: the application is waiting for the home National CEEPUS Office to nominate it towards the host institution’s coordinator
- Status: waiting for the nomination from the host institution/PPU: the application is waiting for the host institution’s coordinator to nominate it towards the host National CEEPUS Office
- Status: waiting for the award from the host NCO: the application is waiting for the host National CEEPUS Office to award or reject it
- Status: awarded by host NCO/ rejected by host NCO: the host National CEEPUS Office’s answer to the application
- Status: accepted by applicant: in the case of awarded application, the applicant has confirmed that s/he has accepted the scholarship
- Status: postponed by the NCO: if the unstarted mobility needs to be postponed due to the epidemic situation, this should be agreed with the host institution and asked from the host NCO
- Status: interrupted by the NCO: if the started mobility needs to be interrupted due to the epidemic situation, this should be agreed with the host institution and asked from the host NCO
V. Final results
In CEEPUS, the final results of the applications are given by the host National CEEPUS Office. In the meantime, you can check the status of your application on www.ceepus.info. First, you will receive an automatic email from www.ceepus.info about the application being awarded (Status: Awarded by host NCO) or rejected (Status: Rejected by host NCO), then your Letter of Award will be issued and sent to you with an information package from the host National CEEPUS Office.
You can expect the result for your application usually 30-45 days after the submission deadline.
If your application has been awarded, you have to send feedback to the host National CEEPUS Office that you still intend to have your mobility by accepting it in the online system. In the case of Freemover applications some of the National Offices also require the Letter of Acceptance signed and sent back via post.

Now the Status is Accepted by applicant.
The next step is to follow the instructions you receive from the host National CEEPUS Office.
