WHY ELTE?

The main reason behind choosing ELTE was primarily the degree program and the city of Budapest. It is indeed a privilege to study at one of the most prestigious and deeply rooted Hungarian universities. It was a decision for me that not only the study program had to fit my academic interests but I also wanted to explore one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING A STUDENT AT ELTE?

The whole degree program. The teachers are very cooperative, friendly and academically highly qualified. Moreover, the environment at ELTE is very peaceful and friendly that helps me to learn and adds a lot to my academic experience. It is easy to feel the Hungarian cultural spirit, history and philosophy which has also enriched my social experience of living alone in a country away from home.

WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES IN YOUR STUDY PROGRAM?

I would say initially it was hard with the Hungarian language but I decided to attend a course to learn the language which is still making this experience enjoyable and very practical. It took me a while to understand and to adapt to the Hungarian educational system. Also because I joined a few weeks late due to some delay in getting the visa, it was quite difficult to catch up with all the courses and assignments and of course to interact with people from scratch as most of them had already become closer friends during the first week.

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DEGREE WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND CAREER?

Being part of such a prestigious university is a boost to one’s CV itself but I would like to add that my degree program is a complex and interdisciplinary one so if I want to apply for a PhD in future, I have possibilities on a broader scope. To attain a degree from the number one research university in Hungary will enhance my academic and career life, as it will enrich my knowledge and give me new insights that will offer me educational and research future career.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR FUTURE STUDENTS AT ELTE?

If you want a culturally diverse experience, study hard and enjoy life too. Do come to Budapest!
