Research Results on Factors Enabling and Hindering Mobility

Led by experts from ELTE, the Erasmus GAP consortium conducted a comprehensive study examining differences between students who can participate in international mobility and those who cannot.

The research findings indicate that higher education institutions must make mobility opportunities more accessible in order to keep pace with international trends driven by increasing globalisation. In this process, academic networks, the development of curricula with mobility windows, and the allocation of university resources can all serve as tools.

The research also indicates that, in addition to students’ individual circumstances—which include their socioeconomic status, financial constraints, and peer influences—institutional characteristics also influence international mobility opportunities.

The report summarising the research findings is available here.
