We warmly invite all our international students to the Orientation Week of the Autumn semester of 2026/27. We highly recommend attending the event where you can meet fellow new international students.
During the Orientation Week you will hear about:
- ELTE and ELTE faculties in general
- Administrative to-do’s to get settled in Budapest (registration in Budapest, insurance) and to start your studies at ELTE (registration at the University, student ID)
- Services provided by the University (e.g., library, language learning)
- Ways to spend free time at ELTE (ESN ELTE, sports, university choir and orchestra, and many more)
The date of the Orientation week: 31 August - 4 September 2026

- Welcome Ceremony
Time: 3 September 10:00 – 11:30
Location: Faculty of Law (Aula Magna), 1053 Budapest, Egyetem tér 1-3

Please note that the venue has limited capacity for the event. We can only reserve a seat for those who have successfully registered and received confirmation. In case of cancellation, we can still welcome some people on site after 9:50 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. If you're not able to come, you can still follow the event online at the ELTE International Facebook page.
Please note that this is a continuous event, individual blocks CANNOT be visited separately, so please plan to attend the entire Welcome ceremony and stay for the full duration to avoid disruptions.

- Library Tour and Introduction to Library Services
Time: 3 September, from 13:00 (following the Information Market)
Location: ELTE Library (meeting point: Faculty of Law (Ground floor))
After the Information Market, interested international students will be accompanied from the ELTE Faculty of Law to the library for a guided tour. During the programme, participants will have the opportunity to explore the library’s spaces, learn about its history and architectural features, and get an introduction to the library services available for students. The short practical session will provide useful information on how to use the library, access resources, find English-language books, and make the most of the study spaces and facilities offered by ELTE Library.
