Stipendium Hungaricum is a scholarship programme for foreign students, founded by the Hungarian Government in 2013. The programme aims to promote cultural understanding, economic and cultural relations between Hungary and other countries from all around the world out of the EU. The scholarship covers the tuition fee of the education, and gives a monthly stipend to its holders to help with the living expenses as well.

The first students within this programme has been accepted at Eötvös Loránd University in 2013/2014, and now, when we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the scholarship, each year 700-800 Stipendium Hungaricum holders enter the Hungarian higher education system at ELTE. In total, 2000 international students study at ELTE in the frame of the programme.

Eötvös Loránd University is also celebrating the 10 years of this scholarship, and the many amazing students arriving because of it to our institution: the spread of the new ideas, the opportunity for academic cooperation, and the blossoming of long lasting friendships are something that has enrichened the life of our university in the past decade.

With the hope that this will only increase in the upcoming years, we present you our way of celebration: in the form of verbal and cultural messages from our students, alumni, or even professors connected to the Stipendium Hungaricum programme.
