IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please note that the Excellence Awards operate strictly on an invitation-only basis. Applications are not open to the general public. Eligible candidates have been pre-selected based on their exceptional academic performance and achievements during the 2025/2026 academic year, in accordance with the strict evaluation guidelines defined by the Tempus Public Foundation. Only pre-selected students who have received a direct email invitation are eligible to submit an application.

Please be advised that the application form will open closer to the deadline.

Purpose of the Awards

The Stipendium Hungaricum Excellence Award and the Stipendium Hungaricum Hungarian Excellence Award are annual recognitions designed to highlight the outstanding achievements of international students studying in Hungary under the Stipendium Hungaricum (SH) programme.

These national‑level awards celebrate exceptional academic performance, community involvement, and overall excellence. They provide a platform for top SH scholarship holders to gain visibility and receive formal recognition for their accomplishments in Hungary.

Award Categories

Students may be nominated in two categories:

1. Excellence Award: for SH scholarship holders enrolled in English‑taught or other foreign‑language programmes.
2. Hungarian Language Excellence Award: for SH scholarship holders studying in Hungarian‑taught programmes.

Both categories acknowledge exceptional academic results and contributions to the university community.

Financial Support

Award recipients receive additional financial support during the semester in which the award is granted. For one month, their total monthly support is increased to 140,000 HUF from the regular 43,700 HUF.
