The method to estimate the protein structure developed by József Kardos and András Micsonai will be used by a leading scientific instrument manufacturer.

Circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy is a technique for the experimental characterization of the structure of protein molecules. Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) researchers József Kardos and András Micsonai at the Department of Biochemistry have developed the BeStSel method to estimate the protein structure from the CD spectra with superior performance. Their publications on the method have been cited by more than a thousand scientific papers1. They created a user friendly software and established a webserver for the research community, currently in use by thousands of scientists worldwide.

Now, ELTE is pleased to announce a long-time collaboration with JASCO Corporation (Tokyo, Japan)  to utilize an offline BeStSel software in their CD instrument's CFR software serving the needs of pharmaceutical industry. Study of the physical properties including the higher order structure of therapeutic proteins and antibodies is integral part of their characterization. JASCO’s CD instruments equipped with the new analysis software meet the highest industry standards and regulations and are the perfect solution for such applications.
