Aim of the course
The subjects purpose is to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge on the process of group counselling. Its purpose include that students know and understand the modells of group counselling, the flow and sections of it and to recognize and develop the competencies required in it. It is a purpose that in addition to the theoretical procedures they get insight into the practice of group counselling as well, by improving their competencies they became able to design group counselling sessions, working at the group plan, manage the group then formulate final conclusions and reflexions.

- the student is clear about the role of group counselling within the realm of helping systems
- knows and understands the advantages of group counselling, indications and contraindications about its application
- has knowledge about the psychological processes in a group
- has and in depth knowledge of the developmet phases of the group
- knows the dynamich of necessities and roles forming in the group
- knows the group leaders system of reactions
- knows the group leaders set of skills and competencies
attitude:
- takes the objectives of group counselling into consideration
- use the professional terminology in professional communication but able to communicate without them ina group counselling situation
- willingly involved in the groups self-knowledge situations, understands its importance and is ready to deepen his of her specific professional interest developing his or her competencies with this

- able to decide about the need of group counselling as a possible helping method
- able to formulate the topics and objectives in accord with group counselling
- along these goals he or she is able to desing and build up the counselling group
- within the group desing he or she is able to decide about indications and counter-indications
- able to set up the frames of group counselling

- able to reflexively evaluate the group process
Content of the course
Topics of the course
Theoretical section - 25% of the course
- The place of group counselling within the helping system, connections between personal and group counselling
- Features of the group as a system, stages of group develomnet, systematic overview of the process of group counselling
- Leader's skills and competencies in the group leading
- Models and fields of applications of group counselling, individual in the group
practical section - 75% of the course
- Detailed workout of the design of the counselling group based on our theoretical knowledge base
- A simulated and possibly a real-situation test of leading using the group plan set up before
- Structural technics properly used in the counselling group - evaluating the experiences of the simulation
- Forming and shaping the the group process- evaluating the experiences of the simulation
- Observing the roles and leaders reactions along with the stages of group development
- Improving group leading skills in simulated situations, learning the group leading competencies in practice and evaluate them in a self-reflexive manner

Learning requirements, mode of evaluation, criteria of evaluation:

- Theoretical section is closed with a classroom test. Subject of the test is the course material and literature items given below
- Practical section is evaluated by the students attitude of active presence,continuous processing of litetature items belonging to the subject, designing an counselling group with its plan delivered, demonstrating the plan in a simulated or real situation then doing a self-reflexive evaluation.

- Classroom test after the theoretical section is evaluated to 5 levels ( insufficient - excellent ). In case of insufficient result the student neet to repeat the exam after the course.If the theoretical part is evaluated to insufficient then the course is not fulfilledwithout regard of the result of the practical section.
- To accomplish the course a group plan in written form should be delivered to a deadline during the practical section, then, delivering the self reflexive evaluation also in written form. All this is evaluated to 5 levels. In case of insuficient mark the course isnot accomplised.
- The course final evaluation is a mean of the marks above.In case of uncertain mark the student may get the better one if an additional work , agreed with the course leader is delivered.
criteria of evaluation:
- During the theoretical part an integrating knowledge must be used, based on the literature items given.
- During the practical part the group plan delivered must follow the concepts and aspects, professional concepts and theoretical modells learned in the course. Reflecting to competencies and skills plays important role in the assessment.
