Aim of the course

The aim of this course is to develop the students’ self-awareness, their ability to reflect on situations in which they are involved, as well as

To develop the students’ competencies to work as consultants

To gain a basic knowledge and skill in sociodrama methodology, enabling to make them capable of using this technique as trainers.

Learning outcome, competences

Knowledge:

  • Students will gain a general knowledge of sociodrama methodology and techniques
  • They will gain an overview of the purpose and limitation of sociodrama
  • They will gain a knowledge of how they can use sociodrama in organizations as well as an understanding of the main characteristics of sociodrama in organizations.

Attitude:

  • Openness to different thinking and constructiveness during sociodrama teamwork.
  • Reflection and self-reflection during sociodrama processes.

Skills:

  • Ability to reflect on sociodrama teamwork, group processes, group dynamics, organizational and social phenomena
  • Ability to interpret his / her observations based on different social-psychological models.
  • Ability to use psychodrama techniques as group leader
  • Ability to use appropriate sociodrama techniques according to the organizational and social environment
  • Ability to assess limitation of his / her competencies

Content of the course

Topics of the course

  • Leadership situations: recruitment interview, motivating employees, performance management, outplacement
  • Conflicts in organizations and workplace
  • Prejudices towards different minorities in the workplace: xenophobia, homophobia, sexism, prejudices against mentally or physically ill people
  • Mobbing, Abuse and Harrasement in the Workplace
  • Social justice, fairness in workplace

  • Sociodrama study group
  • Reflection on experiences in the study-group
  • Interpretation of experiences based on different theoretical models
  • Training sociodrama  in a study group as candidate group leaders
