The professors are highly professional and facilitate very engaging and interesting discussions and workshops that contribute significantly to our intellectual growth. WHAT ARE / WERE YOUR CHALLENGES IN YOUR STUDY PROGRAM?

The first semester can feel daunting because everything is new and that makes it seem complicated. As it was my first time living away from home, I sometimes felt homesick and burned out easily. Thankfully, our professors and my classmates were very supportive and always willing to help me.

HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THESE CHALLENGES?

Our department played the main role in overcoming these challenges. On my part, I believe that being open to new experiences and overcoming shyness were very important to adapting to a new environment. Also, joining communities and making new friends from different countries was the best part of overcoming the challenges.

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DEGREE WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND CAREER?

A degree in Communication and Media Studies at ELTE will equip me with the competitive advantage required to work in the media industry worldwide. The program aligns with contemporary trends and offers specialization in Digital Business Communication, which is very cool as my degree will help my future career in this digital era. I am blissful with the network and friends I made during my years at ELTE that will last a lifetime.

DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE STUDENTS AT ELTE?

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. ELTE’s professors and staff are super supportive and eager to guide and support us through any challenges we may encounter. Also, making an effort to familiarize yourself with the Hungarian language and culture will give you a beautiful experience during your time in Hungary. Hungary’s rich history and fascinating culture offer wonderful experiences worth exploring.
