The ELTE Dormitory Centre and Housing Office announce their joint application to the accommodation services (dormitory and housing) of the 2025/26 academic year for the new international applicants and students of ELTE who will study in Budapest. We ask every international student of ELTE to apply even if they do not request any of these services, because their responses still help us determining the needs of the students and improve our offers and accommodation services.

Every dormitory application will have a result at the same time, expectedly on 11th of July 2025. The housing service is continuous, being independent and unaffected by the result of the dormitory application.

Who can apply?

Any international applicant or student of ELTE who did not enroll at ELTE yet (did not had an active or passive student status yet) and who intends to study in Budapest is eligible to apply in this proceeding.

How to apply?

The application form “Application to the Accommodation Services 2025/26” is available online.

The dormitory and housing applications are in separate sections of the same form. The selected dormitories show us your preferences, but you can be accepted to any dormitory. You will be forwarded to a confirming page after you have clicked on the “Submit” button.

The application is active
from 15th of May 2025, 10:00 am. (CET)
until 6th of July 2025, 23:59 (CET).

The form remains active even after that, but applications sent after the deadline will be considered as waiting list applications.

Result of the application

Applying does not grant a place automatically.

The housing does not have a result, it is continuous, and requires the activeness of the applicant to book a place. We are going to contact you within a few days after receiving your application with the actual offers.

Every dormitory application will have a result at the same time, expectedly on 11th of July 2025. The Dormitory Centre will send the dormitory application’s result in e-mail with the subject “Letter of Acceptance to the ELTE … Dormitory” or “Letter of Rejection”. Make sure to check your spam folder as well!

Accommodation documents

To help the visa applications, the ELTE Letter of Acceptance includes a paragraph with the address of the ELTE Erdős Pál Dormitory. This paragraph does not grant you a dormitory place, but it is accepted by every Hungarian and most foreign authorities as a temporary proof of accommodation until you have an accommodation in Hungary.

The Dormitory Centre can issue accommodation documents (a proof of accommodation or dormitory certificate) for the next academic year only if and after you are accepted to a dormitory.

Every housing partner of ELTE provides the necessary accommodation documents if the booking has been confirmed by them.
