Description

This program is recommended for future students who want to build a firm basis for their further studies in the BSc program of Computer Science. Students who get admitted to Computer Science BSc but cannot reach the minimum level in the entrance examination, will also be redirected to our Preliminary Course.

The curriculum of the Preliminary Course is assembled on topics relevant to a Computer Science BSc program, such as algorithmic thinking skills, Mathematics, English language, and basic knowledge about computers and programming.

Entry requirements

Applicants are required to have sufficiently good grades in their secondary school finishing documents, especially from Mathematics. Intermediate level of English knowledge is also required.

Application procedure

The application starts on the online application system. Students need to register in the system, fill in the online application form, upload the required documents and follow the instructions during the application process.

The application fee should be paidusing the following guide on how to use the new system, Epay:

Essential guide

  • Open the official payment platform of ELTE.
  • Accept the privacy notices at the bottom of the page.
  • Then click on Start Shopping.
  • Select the Faculty (Faculty of Informatics) from the drop-down menu,
  • then the payment title (application fee),
  • then add the related study programme in the Subtitle section.
  • Click on To the Cart.
  • The cart summary will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. If you selected the right fee, click on Next.
  • Fill out the Billing data.
  • IMPORTANT!!! Fill in following Notice: CS Pre, E10104/18
    Without the correct comment, your payment will not be accepted!
  • then click on Go to Payment.
  • Check your billing information; if everything is correct, click 'Pay'.

Procedure of the entrance examination

The applications are examined by the Admission Board and applicants are notified of the outcome of the selection in the online application system until the end of June (September intake) / the end of November (February intake). Admission letters are sent out in the online application system soon after the decision.

If an applicant’s documents and grades are acceptable, then in most cases he/she will be asked to participate in a Skype interview as well. In this interview, we want to make sure that the applicant can speak and understand English at an intermediate level.
