Hi, I'm Alegría! I'm from Ecuador, and I'm super family- and community-oriented. I love my country and my dogs more than almost anything. I love to read, travel, and get to know different cultures, and wherever I go, I always end up visiting museums, no matter the city. Before ELTE, I did my BA in Business & Marketing, so anthropology has been a whole new world for me and a really interesting one.

WHAT STOOD OUT TO YOU ABOUT ELTE?
What stood out to me the most was how close-knit the anthropology department community is. Making friends felt completely natural.
WHAT MAKES STUDYING AT ELTE SO GREAT?
The program let me learn anthropology from zero and realise I could actually pivot from my Business & Marketing background into something completely different; it gave me the space to reinvent myself academically.
WHAT ARE / WERE YOUR CHALLENGES IN YOUR STUDY PROGRAM?
Balancing "young adult life": cooking, house chores, work, and studying.
HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THESE CHALLENGES?
Reminding myself that done is always better than perfect, staying organised with my time, and meal-prepping were a total game changer! Also, learning to work as a team with my friends for my studies really helped.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE ELTE IN THREE WORDS?
Community, Knowledge, Curious.
HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DEGREE WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND CAREER?
I'm planning to do research in my home country on memory and culture, work with museums, and bring all of that into my market research work.
