"ELTE was my first choice in my search for studying abroad for numerous reasons, one of which is the outstanding reputation that the university has."

What stood out to you about ELTE?

ELTE was my first choice in my search for studying abroad for numerous reasons, one of which is the outstanding reputation that the university has. In my research about this university, I realized that it is one of the most popular universities in Hungary. It is the oldest and largest higher education institution in Hungary since the establishment of its predecessor in 1635 and this stood out to me. Currently, ELTE is the leading research university in Hungary equipped with all the necessary laboratories, libraries, IT infrastructure and other equipment.

What makes studying at ELTE so great?

ELTE offers more than 80 degree programs in foreign languages and the international students’ community grows each year. This helps me meet and learn from students from all over the world with diverse languages and cultures. Also, studying at ELTE comes with great academic opportunities and social networking on campus and even after school.

What are / were your challenges in your study program?

Studying in my country is very different from here so a lot of things were new to me. It took me a while to adapt to the Hungarian education system. The extremity of the weather and the language do not do me any favors.

How did you overcome these challenges?

Studying mechanical engineering comes with a lot of pressure and challenges each day but I do my best to bring out the best in me. For the weather, I check the temperature for the day before I choose my outfits. I am still a beginner in the Hungarian language but with time I will get better.

How would you describe ELTE in three words?

Prominent, Independent and Competitive

How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career?

Studying abroad changes your worldview and it exposes you to new cultures and experiences. This usually contributes to life and one’s career positively. In my case, a degree from ELTE is internationally recognized and very advantageous.

Do you have any recommendations for future students at ELTE?

I would recommend prospective students of ELTE to take advantage of the opportunities each day brings, and to be the best version of themselves.
