What do you like most about being a student at ELTE?
Excellent professors and teachers are not only helpful but also kind-hearted. They always take care of their students and provide invaluable guidance and suggestions related to studies. What I admire most about being a doctoral student at ELTE is cooperation between professors/teachers and students. Moreover, ELTE creates a collaborating community among students. I can extend my international network to a great extent in this regard. Furthermore, the courses given by ELTE are tremendously interesting and beneficial not only for my doctoral research but also to my lifelong research activities. Last but not least, the international coordinators and the administrative staff are always ready to help students.
What are your challenges in your study program?
To be honest, I do not have any big challenges in my study program. But I would recommend the prospective international students to improve their English because all of the international students come from different parts of the world and so English has become the common language in studying, writing the dissertation and communicating with one another. Besides the English language skills, students should also be skillful in IT at least at the intermediate level because we have to use platforms such as Neptun, Canvas, MOOC and Skype which are very much part of student’s lives at ELTE. We have to input our personal information and documents through these online platforms, submit our assignments and receive the professors’ feedback as well, and quite often check the guidelines and regulations announced by the university.
How do you think your degree will help you in your life and career?
ELTE meets all of my high expectations and so I strongly believe that it will help me in promoting my professional and academic public life as a qualified teacher and researcher in the future after completing my doctoral degree. ELTE will also help me be an excellent educationist who can improve her own education system and who can contribute to educational cooperation at the international level.
Do you have any recommendations for future students at ELTE?
ELTE is unique and the best choice for prospective students! Studying at ELTE will provide you numerous benefits both physically and mentally. Being a student of ELTE means a lot more, than just gaining academic knowledge. You can extend your international network; your research theories will become broader and broader; your pedagogical knowledge will improve more and more; you can meet the diverse multicultural backgrounds of teachers and students; you can feel the equality and equity of treatment here.
