Hello everyone! My name is Julija, I am a second-year student at ELTE and I’m coming from North Macedonia. The thing I love most is traveling and I always look for an opportunity to explore new places, get to know their cultures and meet new people. I have a beautiful dog which also has a few countries on her "visited list". In my free time I enjoy listening to my vinyls or binge watching a tv show.
"ELTE is one of the oldest and best universities in Budapest!"
WHAT STOOD OUT TO YOU ABOUT ELTE?
The courses really caught my attention, the curriculum felt rich and exciting with topics that actually made me curious to learn more about. It is one of the oldest and best universities in Budapest!
WHAT MAKES STUDYING AT ELTE SO GREAT?
I love the flexibility. Most classes aren’t mandatory, and the lectures are recorded, so it’s easier to learn at my own pace while still having the freedom to balance other interests and commitments.
WHAT ARE / WERE YOUR CHALLENGES IN YOUR STUDY PROGRAM?
Since it was my first time getting in contact with subjects like Accounting, Corporate Finance and other business related subjects, it was slightly challenging to learn from scratch, not knowing anything about these topics from before.
HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THESE CHALLENGES?
I gave myself the first year to fully adapt, focusing on understanding the way classes work here, finding study methods that suited me, and asking questions without hesitation. Slowly, the once-confusing topics started making sense.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE ELTE IN THREE WORDS?
Flexible. Diverse. Inspiring
HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DEGREE WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND CAREER?
My goal is to one day become the CEO of my own company, and this degree is giving me the knowledge, problem-solving skills, and global perspective I’ll need to make that happen.
DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE STUDENTS AT ELTE?
Be open to new experiences, try courses outside your main field, talk to people from different backgrounds, and make use of all the resources ELTE offers. And don’t be afraid to take your time to adapt, it’s all part of the journey.
