As part of the PADMICA project, a comprehensive report was prepared on good practices implemented by European higher education institutions in the field of intercultural preparation before international mobility and reflection following mobility.
International mobility can provide students with valuable intercultural experiences, but adapting to a different environment can also present a number of challenges. Since spending time abroad does not in itself guarantee the development of intercultural competences, it is important that students receive support in processing their experiences both before and after their mobility period.
The PADMICA consortium surveyed staff at European higher education institutions and students who had participated in mobility programmes about the practices they use and their experiences. Based on the findings, the consortium identified a range of good practices and common challenges and developed recommendations for designing intercultural preparation programmes before mobility and reflection activities after mobility.
The findings of the research served as a foundation for further developments within the PADMICA project, including the development of the intercultural preparation module.
The PADMICA report presenting the identified good practices is available at the link below.
