In its resolution of June 19, the Hungarian Accreditation Committee accredited the operation of Eötvös Loránd University without conditions for the maximum period allowed, until June 30, 2031.

In the global ranking listing more than 1,500 institutions, Eötvös Loránd University achieved the 595th place and took first place in Hungary according to Quacquarelli Symonds.

According to the latest world ranking by U.S. News & World Report, Eötvös Loránd University is Hungary’s top higher education institution in seven fields and overall performance.

Tetsuya Kimura, Japan’s Ambassador to Hungary, presented a collection of English-language books on Japan.

The results of the international research led by István Koncz (ELTE Faculty of Humanities) and Yijie Tian (Stony Brook University, NY) were published in the journal Science.

The year-long programme series includes lectures, conferences and on 18 September, the University will confer an honorary doctorate upon the author.

Elected as a regular member of the Academia Europaea in 2026 were Lénárd Darázs, jurist and professor at ELTE ÁJK, rector of ELTE, as well as Máté Csanád, physicist and professor at ELTE TTK.
