ELTE's Directorate of Education announces a Call for Faculty to provide financial and professional support for transnational online courses to be held in the CHARM-EIGHT project framework.
The purpose of the Call:
This Call is directly connected to the Call published by the CHARM-EU European University Alliance, wherein educators are asked to offer such online courses that provide accessibility for students of the partner universities. As such, students can gain first hand international experiences without physical mobility. The goal of this Call is to provide financial and professional support for ELTE educators joining this initiative.
Conditions of application:
ELTE faculty members with public employee status can participate in this Call, with an indication of their course to be launched during the fall or spring semester of the 2026/2027 academic year. The course must meet the criteria below:
- the course is part of the model curriculum for an undergraduate or master’s program at ELTE, or offered to PhD students,
- the course is held in English, German, French, or Spanish,
- the course material is available on an LMS (Moodle, Teams),
- the course is held online (all students online) or in a hybrid way (ELTE students partake in the classroom, the virtual mobility students do so online),
- the course is held synchronously or asynchronously,
- the course is interactive (seminars/trainings are preferred over lectures, and students have the opportunity to interact with the course material, the educator, and other participants, for example in the form of international groups, forums, or in break-out rooms),
- courses which are in line with CHARM-EU pedagogical principles are given priority: https://www.charm-eu.eu/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Educational-Principles-Updated-May-2024.pdf
- courses that consider and emphasise the international and intercultural diversity of the participating students in its planning and implementation are also given priority;
- the application of educators who have previously taken part in a course development trainings, are given priority during the evaluation process;
- successful applicants agree to complete at least one of the self-paced online training courses available to ELTE educators;
- an educator can only submit one course.
Before submitting your application, please make sure that the conditions to offer a course online or in a hybrid form can be ensured on your faculty.

The deadline for submitting the application: May 4th 2026.
Applications may be submitted by filling out the form available at this link: https://charm-eu.eu/learning/educational-offer/course-catalogue/submit-a-course, please also send the attachment available at this link and (if applicable) proof of completion of the self-paced online training course to the e-mail address of Directorate of Education with reference to the submitted application: tol@dep.elte.hu.
Applications are only considered on the conditions that
the online form has been filled out and
the attachment has been sent to the given email address.
Evaluation of submitted applications:
The submitted applications are jointly evaluated by the Directorate of Education of ELTE and the CHARM-EU Office. Besides meeting the conditions for application, ELTE must ensure that the course catalogue includes a number of courses from ELTE comparable to those of the other partners, thereby ensuring international proportionality. As such, it is possible not all applications that meet the conditions of application may receive the support applied for.
Grants provided for successful applications:
Under this Call, funding is expected to be awarded to a maximum of six courses. The Directorate of Education will provide a grant of 300,000 HUF (gross) per course to cover the costs of conducting the courses. Payment is contingent upon the following conditions:
the course is held during the fall or spring semester of the 2026/2027 academic year,
at least 6 international online students register for it,
and at least 3 of those students successfully complete the course.
The Department of Educational Development and Talent Management within the Directorate of Education provides professional support to educators upon request.
Announcing the results of the application:
The Directorate of Education will notify applicants of the results of the application process via the email address provided on the form following the evaluation.
