Hi everyone! My name is Gan-Erdene. I was born and raised in the western part of Mongolia. I love hiking in places with cooler temperatures especially in national parks. I also enjoy watching Chinese raunchy comedies.

"The professors are kind and understanding and the study program is flexible while still giving me the discipline I need to keep up with my peers."

WHAT STOOD OUT TO YOU ABOUT ELTE?

When I decided to study in Europe ELTE really stood out to me because of its strong ranking and prestige. I was also attracted by how diverse the student community is which made me feel like it would be a welcoming place to study.

WHAT MAKES STUDYING AT ELTE SO GREAT?

The atmosphere at ELTE is amazing. The professors are kind and understanding and the study program is flexible while still giving me the discipline I need to keep up with my peers. It is a good balance between freedom and responsibility.

WHAT ARE OR WERE YOUR CHALLENGES IN YOUR STUDY PROGRAM?

One of my biggest challenges was that most of the theories and approaches in psychology come from the Western world which felt very different from the culture I grew up in back in Mongolia. It took some time to get used to that new perspective.

HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THESE CHALLENGES?

I realized that my struggles were mostly cultural so I decided to immerse myself more in the local culture and way of thinking. This helped me see things from a different perspective and appreciate the positive aspects of the differences.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE ELTE IN THREE WORDS?

Diverse,Flexibl ,Classic

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DEGREE WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND CAREER?

This degree will give me a strong foundation for my future career as a financier. In finance you deal with all kinds of people and situations including psychological aspects so understanding human behavior will be very useful.

DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE STUDENTS AT ELTE?

ELTE feels like a big family so do not be shy about asking questions or seeking help. At first I was hesitant to ask questions because I thought I was the only one struggling but later I realized that many international students feel the same.
