“I think that the scholarship has given me an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to widen my horizon both in widening my knowledge and understanding another amazing culture.”
I was very fortunate to receive a full scholarship from the Hungarian government to pursue a bachelor 's degree in Computer Science at a Hungarian institution. I chose ELTE which is the largest university nationwide and has various majors from social sciences to natural sciences. And another reason was that János Neumann, a Hungarian legendary computer scientist, father of digital computers, has attended this great university and his work at the early stage of computing still inspires me today to follow the scientific career I have chosen.
What do you like most about being a student at ELTE?
In every class, we have strong connections with the professors, we not only discuss the course materials but also further advanced approaches and modern techniques in computing. All pieces of advice from professors here are very helpful and valuable. Besides classroom, the Faculty of Informatics at ELTE also has many interesting research programs such as human-machine interaction, system programming, programming languages, etc. My research skills have improved a lot since I participated in the Neural Information Processing Group under the supervision of Prof. András Lőrincz.
What are the challenges in your study program?
In my experience, the biggest challenge is learning Hungarian language to make friends and communicate with other native students. Actually, Hungarian language is so difficult for me.
How do you think your scholarship will help you in your life and career?
I think that the scholarship has given me an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to widen my horizon both in widening my knowledge and understanding another amazing culture.
Do you have any recommendations for future students at ELTE?
