Hi! I’m Minh, an international student from Vietnam. I love film photography, getting lost in a good book or movie, and exploring new places. I speak Vietnamese, English, and a bit of Hungarian. I’d love to help you feel more confident about your next steps. Feel free to reach out!

"The teachers are not only knowledgeable, but also very approachable and always willing to help if you reach out."

WHAT STOOD OUT TO YOU ABOUT ELTE?

What stood out to me most about ELTE is its strong academic reputation and long-standing history as one of Hungary’s most prestigious universities. Before I even applied, I read about the wide variety of programs, experienced professors, and international opportunities. Now that I’m here, I can truly see that it lives up to that reputation. The high academic standards, combined with the flexibility to choose from so many interesting courses, make it a great place for both personal and academic growth.

WHAT MAKES STUDYING AT ELTE SO GREAT?

Studying at ELTE has been such a rewarding experience for me. The teachers are not only knowledgeable, but also very approachable and always willing to help if you reach out. What also makes it special is the international atmosphere. You get to meet students from all over the world, and it’s so easy to make friends in this open, welcoming environment. Plus, with access to an excellent library system, helpful administrative support, and so many resources, you really feel like you have the tools to succeed here.

WHAT ARE / WERE YOUR CHALLENGES IN YOUR STUDY PROGRAM?

To be honest, I did not face any major difficulties. It was quite easy to adapt, especially with how welcoming and friendly everyone was. That said, one challenge could be the number of midterms: we have 3 midterms for 6-credit courses and 2 midterms for 3-credit courses. This means the study period can get quite intense, and it’s important to stay focused and manage your time well throughout the semester to keep up.

HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THESE CHALLENGES?

What really helped me was staying consistent with my studies throughout the semester, rather than leaving everything until the last minute. I tried to do my best during the study period so that I could pass all my courses without taking final exams. This strategy worked really well as I could fully enjoy my break afterwards, having up to 2 or 3 months of complete rest and no schoolwork at all! During that time, I could travel, relax, explore different hobbies, and do other extracurricular activities. It really helped me recharge and come back refreshed for the next semester.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE ELTE IN THREE WORDS?

Global - Renowned - Inspiring

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DEGREE WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND CAREER?

This program has given me a strong foundation in both business and economics, with a focus on how they function in a global context. I have learned not only theory, but also how to think critically, work independently, and apply knowledge in real-world situations. I believe these skills will be valuable no matter what career path I take. Additionally, earning a degree from a prestigious and well-established university like ELTE will definitely strengthen my resume and open up more opportunities—whether in further studies or in the job market.

DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE STUDENTS AT ELTE?

Come with an open heart and mind—there are so many incredible experiences waiting for you here at ELTE and in Budapest. Studying at ELTE is not just about academics; it’s also about personal growth, independence, and discovering who you are in a new environment.
