At the celebratory conference jointly organized by the ELTE Faculty of Humanities and the U.S. Embassy in Hungary, Hungarian and international experts examine the global impact, as well as the literary and cultural legacy of the Declaration of Independence, and the development of American political thought through lectures and roundtable discussions.

The event is opened by Dr. Gábor Zemplén, ELTE’s Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Jeffrey Adler, Public Affairs Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Budapest and Dr. János Kenyeres, Director of the ELTE School of English and American Studies. Keynote lectures are delivered by Tamás Magyarics and Enikő Bollobás, Professors Emeriti of ELTE SEAS.
